Max Black has The X Factor – Dami Im wears MB Latex!

Tuesday, September 10th, 2013

Dami Im is well and truly dominating the competition in this season’s X Factor Australia, and last Sunday night she stunned the audience with a disco classic that was turning heads – and not just because of her awesome vocals!

“You look like you were coming down a runway like you are a supermodel, you are so insanely beautiful!” gushed mentor Dannii Minogue.

TVFIX commented that ‘dressed head-to-toe in leather and latex, Dami’s dominatrix-disco queen look is just one of many stand-out sartorial choices that we’ve come to expect from the blossoming diva as she continues to push the style envelope each week.’

And where did that fabulous outfit come from? Well, X Factor stylist Heather Cairns, just happened to make a visit to our little ‘ol store and as she told TVFIX  “We went a little sexier and dressed her in latex and she just embraced the look! The latex was from Max Black in Newtown, which is the best latex in Oz, and we paired it with a bustier”.

For lovers of latex there is no other store in Sydney that offers such a huge range of Europe’s finest rubberware – from cute little skirts to fully boned corsetry, lingerie and even a full line of menswear.

We were absolutely thrilled to be involved with such a talented artist and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the competition next.

Libidex Latex Has Landed + New, Bigger Rubber Room Opens!

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

We’ve been talking and teasing about the arrival of our first Libidex collection for a little while now, and if you have an interest in latex fashion you have no doubt heard about it. Well, the wait is finally over with the very first shipment of Libidex hitting MaXXX Black this week. And to celebrate we’ve given the Rubber Room a big makeover!

The Rubber Room is now located in a new space, doubling the floor size and giving you even more room to enjoy the rubbery selection. Heidi and Bruce have been working very very hard to create the biggest Rubber fashion selection in Sydney, and it’s amazing!

The first Libidex shipment contains men’s tops and leggings, plus dresses, tops and skirts for women. For the first time we have metallic colours in stock, and there are new latex stockings in-store too – in CLEAR TRANSPARENT latex!!

It’s the first of many though, and the next shipment (due in just a couple of weeks) will bring an array of Libidex corsets to the shelves of MaXXX Black.

So get into the Rubber Room here at MB, and see for yourself the best collection of latex fashion in Australia. But make it quick – there are limited sizes available.

Libidex Is Coming To Sydney!!!!

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

Throughout 2011 we were very very proud to bring latex back to Sydney. We found Rubber55, got Honour & SkinTwo in-store and managed to get designer Matt Bylett to create a latex collection just for us. Plus with Vivishine and Vividress on our shelves, your latex (and future latex) has never looked better.

Well, the shiny revolution continues in 2012 with the official launch of a Libidex collection in Australia – right here at MaXXX Black.

We are beside ourselves with excitement – Libidex at MB means lots of new styles, colours and trims, and with new items coming in from other brands it looks like our Rubber Room might need to expand. We’ll keep you posted.

We know we’ve been chatting about Libidex fora few weeks now on Facebook and in-store, so letting you all know when they’re due would be kind right? Well, keep an eye out for the official launch announcement around the end of Feb. Our Libidex latex range is being expertly put together in London, and we expect it in just a couple of weeks.

Keep it Shiny!

Product News: Vivishine & Vividress Now In Store!

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

MaXXX Black has another first for all of your latex and rubber fans – Vivishine, The Latex Care Company has just delivered MaXXX’s very first shipment of their signature products – Vivishine, and Vividress.

With all the lovely latex goodies arriving from Honour, Rubber55 and Skin Two, we simply had to find the BEST latex care products available – so we did!

Since latex is an especially sensous material, and being a natural product,  it needs the right kind of maintenance to preserve it’s brilliance, colour and shine. We’ve found that some latex enthusiasts are using below-grade silicone lubricants to shine and prep their latex fashion. This can have a terrible effect on good-quality latex. There are over four thousand different grades of silicone and only a few of those are actually suitable for latex gear. Pjur Cult, Pjur Bodyglide and Vivishine are among the few who fall into that category.

We’ve even created a new department, Latex Care and Dressing, on the website under lubricants. It’s too easy!

So what do we have in stock?

Vivishine

Vivishine is careful intensive care for all latex and rubber articles. It conditions and shines your latex and makes it look brand-spanking-new every time. It’s a miracle for latex, giving a deep lustre and permanent shine to your latex gear.

Free of any solvents and odour-neutral, it even helps to protect your fashion while in storage.

Vivishine is available in a 120ml bottle for just $35.00

Vividress

With Vividress getting into and out of your rubber gear has never been easier or sexier.

Its ingredients maintain the natural latex rubber material and make your skin feel slick, sexier and sensual against the garment.

Vividress is perfect for transparent latex garments as it actually increases the brilliance of thinner latex pieces.

Free of any solvents, oil or grease and odour-neutral.

Vividress is in an economical 220ml bottle, for only $45.00

Both products are available instore and online right now. Click the images above to go to our website.

Latex Care – A (Slightly Cranky!) Guide To Lube & Shine

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011
This article was provided by MissFuzzyBunny via Fetlife, as part of the Latex Lovers group. We thank her for her knowledge and her time in writing this great guide.
Image above is from Miss Fuzzy Bunny’s awesome Essential Latex collection.

——————————————————————–

Please note these are my opinions after selling, making and wearing latex for many years. I realize I may ruffle a few feathers with my anti-Armor-All stance, but I really dislike the idea of a car product in close proximity to my skin and body!

So, without further ado, I present a no-nonsense guide to getting into your shiny latex.

Shine

Use silicone oil*, Pjur Cult Ultra Shine Spray, Pjur Cult dressing aid (apply with a sponge) or ViviShine. Period. Don’t be a loser and try and cheap out with a household or car care product.

Expect to pay a bit. It’s sad, but that’s just the way life is, best to spend your valuable time doing something else instead of searching for the mystery cheap miracle fluid.

Note: Silicone sprays in aerosol cans are annoying and disgusting and coat everything in your house and clog your lungs. Walk right by them. Seriously, only old losers worth avoiding still bother with this shit. Harsh, but very very true. (Cult spray is a different animal altogether, it’s non-aerosol and easy to control!)

Silicone oil can be purchased by the drum if you use a lot of it. Something like this, below. Please use your Google skills to locate the same product in your country.

http://www.chemistrystore.com/Silicone_Oil-Silicone… This comes in a gallon! A gallon! We use this at the latex store where I work to polish everything. Pour some into a smaller bottle, pour onto a sponge or use your hands, and go to town. You can also get thicker grades if you like, it’s up to you.

Dressing

Pjur Cult dressing aid, ID Millennium, ViviDress [coming to MaXXX Black in June], or again, pure silicone oil.  Silicone is the key word here, are you sensing a trend? If you’re a nerd, you can chlorinate your garments, but nobody except die hard latex fetishists have the energy or the patience, it seems, so let’s not even discuss this possibility, okay?

[Note from MB:  Swiss Navy Silicone & EROS are good products for sex, but NOT for latex fashion as they are a lower-grade silicone]

I love ViviShine, I think it’s awesome.

From my experiences, however, it’s best to start a ViviShine treatment from the very beginning on ones brand new, newly washed latex. It takes so well to virgin latex. Also, the more times you use it, the stronger the shine.

And while I adore it, I would also suggest having extra silicone or Cult shine on hand for touch-ups.

ViviShine is also ideal for cosmetic touches to dull patches of latex when you go out, because it does bond better than pure silicone or Cult. They seem to have added some sort of bonding agent to get it to stick as well as it does, and I find it’s excellent for topping up shine on non-shiny worn off sports such as the knees or butt. It should last you all night if you rub it in before going out.

In terms of cleaning, it’s more stubborn than Cult, for sure, just because of whatever they have in it that allows it to bond to the latex. For that reason, I’d advise against using it on any garments that you might like to chlorinate afterwards.

[MB Note: We do not recommend chlorination, as it will strip away the top shine from the material, and it will make the garment impossible to repair if you get a cut or tear.]

Essential

There is only one place where you should never use silicone as a dressing aid, and that is in socks or stockings. Have talc on hand for this clothing item. Silicone will make walking very dangerous!

Unscented talcum powder is necessary for getting into stockings, but should be avoided for other garments because your sweat turns white and things get very messy.

Do not, whatever you do, listen to anyone about using corn starch. Corn starch is an absolute no-no, and anyone suggesting it is probably someone with a very smelly collection of dull and rotting latex. Corn starch can promote latex allergies, and even worse, it will rot your latex if not properly cleaned off afterwards. It’s a food. Food spoils. Imagine what rotten food will do to your nice latex! Save your corn starch pennies for thickening sauces and custards. Keep it the fuck away from your latex.
